Administration and Development vice Dean Message
To the esteemed community of our college, honored stakeholders, and partners, It is with great pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I address you in my authority as the Vice Dean for Administration and Development of our college. Our institution has diligently worked to fulfill its role as a teacher training center, particularly in introducing and implementing competency-based education in recent years. During this period, the administration must serve as a coordinating hub for service delivery.
Under our responsibility, the main areas of work include the overall administrative system of the institution, human resource management, finance and asset management, research capacity building, infrastructure projects, and input-output efficiency.
Among the significant achievements in administration and development to date:
• A sector-focused scientific management system has been implemented to improve our institution's work performance and enhance efficiency.
• In efforts to enhance teachers' pedagogical competence, the PGDT program has been practically delivered to over 2,500 teachers in secondary schools across six centers.
• Focus has been placed on strengthening our human resource capacity; 9 instructors with Doctorate degrees serve our college, and a further 14 are pursuing their doctoral studies.
• Improved administrative organization has been applied to enhance work accountability and information flow.
Our institution's future plan involves organizing necessary learning-teaching centers to train better teacher trainees, improving research-based development, and increasing administrative efficiency through the use of technology. To implement this ambitious plan, the supportive assistance and collaboration of various stakeholders are essential. Support provided through finance, training, technology, research, or other means will make a significant contribution to the developmental and administrative activities within our college.
Therefore, I formally and humbly request the assistance and collaboration of all stakeholders and partners. By working together, let us pave the way for Hossaena College of Education to better serve our country's educational needs. With esteemed respect,
Dr. Tsedeke Abate,
Vice Dean for Administration and Development Hossana College of Education
