The sector emphasizes basic knowledge and professional code of ethics, methodology and practical trainings.

The objectives nurture the elements and values incorporated in the education policy of the nation as well as basic principles stated on the colleges proclamation number 74/1996 E.C. of the region.

To this effect, Hossana College of Teachers’ Education Aims:

  1. To prepare primary school teachers and Educational Leaders who will be able to attain the objectives of the Education and Training Policy and the strategies contained within the National Teachers Development Program (TDP);
  2. To produce primary school teachers and Educational Leaders who are academically qualified, professionally skilled, attitudinal and ethically committed to their profession;
  3. To establish a system and culture of continuous teacher and Educational Leadership development program from per-service to in-service education and training using diverse modes of delivery;
